Other Activities on plan:

S/No Event Progress Report
1 Development of Proficiency The proposal is to develop new badges and scheme for Second and First Class tests.  While Tenderfoot Tests will continue to be used, the new badge Design are shown in the display in the meeting hall and leaflets distributed.   The badges were presented at the last NEC meeting in Osun and a 7-man committee was appointed to look into the possibilities of adopting the badges.
Badging System (THESE BADGES ARE IN LINE WITH MODERN INNOVATIONS AND IDEAS TO GINGER YOUNG PEOPLE TO TAKE PART IN THE SCOUT PROGRAMMES) While the badge will be produced at a single source, the handbook will be produced by the Association for distribution at all Basic Training Courses for Scout Leaders. In other words, every trained scoutleader going to earn our BTC certificates will be required to purchase the Handbook.  The production and distribution will be carried out with the cooperation of the Scout Shop.
2 Woodbadge Training Scheme In line with the current Module 900 of the WARP (World Adult Resource Policy), particular attention need to be drawn to page 21 to 23 i.e. Module 902.3 which deals with Guidelines for Advanced Unit Leader Training.  This focus is to change the process of our Woodbadge Training so as to make it conform with current International Standard.   Trainers, especially ALTs and LTs  are requested to carefully study this part and other supporting documents from our earlier papers at the Trainers Orientation Meeting in Keffi at the beginning of the year, a final decision will be taken at the meeting of Trainers during Woodbadge Reunion in Imo.
3 Community Development Skills for Explorer Scouts The Department is systematically re-introducing the Explorer training to be focus on community development.  Hence, it is a mandatory requirement for anyone who has attended BTC and wishes to take the Woodbadge to undertake a service project either alone or in peer of two or three.  A pictorial report of such project must be presented to be admitted into the Woodbadge.  Subsequently, after the Woodbadge training, candidate’s qualifying project shall equally be community development target.  Infact, successful woodbadge candidates will be encouraged and supported to source funding under the Messenger of Peace (MoP).
